When I contacted them a couple of months ago they basically told me to pound sand and that "it takes as long as it takes" and they had no way of checking anything further on their end.
The only thing I could have (and I guess I still could do) is start a brand new application. In this case, I did a 'renewal application' of an already expired card that I let lapse, not sure if that would help? Sounds like in your case you did the same thing i.e. a brand new application?
