See this is why I stayed pessimistic about the flames the whole time.
When Sutter was hired and everyone was celebrating, who said he’d make no difference? Me.
When we started the season and people were all excited, who kept reminding people we’d fall off a cliff? Me.
When Markstrom looked like a Vezina favourite after that crazy hot start, who reminded people he’s always been a bum? Me.
When Johnny and Chucky had the makings of career years, who reminded people it’s only because they’re in contract years and will walk/hold out? Me.
Lesson of the day: pessimism always wins out. Odds are, your team will fail, make sure you end up on the right side of history by predicting failure.
That’s why all my life lessons were learned from Marge Simpson.
