I don't partake in the EDC or hunting knives area. But what I do love is kitchen knives! Specifically Japanese knives. I always had an interest in them and received a set of Masakage Yuki (petty, nakiri and gyoto) as a 10 year company gift from the owner at the time. Before using them, I didn't know potato could be sharp.

I had a very nice Japanese lady for a neighbor two doors down, she passed last year but she gave me a few things and one of them was a Japanese meat cleaver. It was super nice, a little on the dull side but got that sorted out... only thing was it had a small crack on the end of the edge. I was prepping ribs one day and it broke off, which is why I bought the cold steel cleaver.
She came to the house that one day, all 4 feet of her holding this giant cleaver in the air, we had a good laugh about that.
