Big thing here though is part of that is percentages too.

These 8 forwards have combined for 15 goals. But they have combined for 305 shots on goal, and a 4.9% shooting percentage, which is a crazy low shooting percentage even if these guys aren't the best finishers.

If they had the 27 expected goals instead of the 15 actual goals we'd probably be a little less worried about the forward depth, but finishing talent does seem to be an issue with this team.

Hopefully they just continue to generate shots and chances and the puck starts to go in.

On the flip side...Gaudreau, Mangiapane, Tkachuk, Lucic, and Lindholm have combined for 40 5v5 goals on 283 shots, from 30.6 expected goals, and are shooting 14%. So that's probably a little high and will normalize in the other direction a bit too.
