Just speculation on my part but it seems to me Guy Gaudreau and the rest of the family are appreciative of what the Flames have provided to Johnny. If JG is happy and comfortable, why mess with that? He may leave but I doubt it is a decision he makes easily.

I just don’t see why anyone would snicker at that scenario. I think that the idea that Treliving is less competent than the average fan is the more far fetched scenario. Some fans seem to think that Tre was unaware of what could happen if Gaudreau was not signed in the off season, as though he had no plan… seems pretty hard to believe to me.
