Sean Monahan has 5 even strength points in 29 games and sits at a -10

I won’t even take salary in to the equation because the comparison would just be downright ridiculous. It’s really not even close. Sam Bennett is the superior player and the braintrust of this organization should feel bad they decided to trade Sam Bennett instead of Sean Monahan.
Honestly, they should’ve looked in to trading Monahan a long time ago while he had even a smidgen of value. Now they’re stuck with an unproductive player at even strength who can’t stop giving up goals with a contract that’s likely improbable to move which will then require a buyout that this team can’t afford.
At this point, I’ve given up on Monahan figuring it out offensively. But there’s no excuse for his terrible defensive play at this point because it’s hurting the team.

If they are looking to trade Monahan, they should play him on the top line and get him some Gaudreau points to prop up his value.
