Unfortunately he sucks really hard defensively and as a result he's saddled with a couple of defense first guys who play north south and don't use the soft spots on the ice where his game shines. What is ultimately apparent is he has been given another assignment, for some reason, and is continuing to accept that assignment without complaint. That's right. He hasn't publicly whined about his role, hasn't pouted, hasn't stormed into the GMs office and demanded a trade, or used his agent to publicly apply pressure on the coach or team for better ice time. Monahan is still a good player, a team player, and a consummate professional. We could never say any of those things about the player who shall not be named (the Florida Point Suck). If Monahan is bought out this summer, it's another reason to replace Treliving.

I look at Sean's game objectively and I think you are full of ####. Not one of those things you listed apply to Monahan's game now, that was Monahan 3 years ago.
