We are lucky that Omicron variant hasn't been producing serious illnesses at the rate of other variants, but the more the virus rans rampant, the greater chance that another, possibly more deadly variant, will be spawned. Are we lucky or is this what a virus does in order to survive and infect more hosts?
Or maybe someone engineering it to do this.
