I like (US) Thanksgiving, as the weather is usually good, there is plenty of football to watch for the whole weekend, the food is good, there are no expectations, and so on.
But Christmas? Meh.
The weather is usually cold, there are all these obligations and expectations (family, social, or otherwise), the day is boring, the lead-up to it is expensive, and it is rough on those without kids or family. And, to be honest, I don’t get much joy from giving and I hate receiving, so the whole experience is just depressing.
I think the young enjoy Christmas and maybe those with kids or with family that they enjoy being around, but for everyone else, I really don’t get how they like the day, or even the season.
