My point is that these kinds of things are common. Getting development permits, building permits, occupancy, subdivisions - none of this is “set in stone” like some folks seem to think a contract implies.
As for the muppet comment, yeah, if you’re complaining about your taxes going up at the same time as wanting the city to foot the bill for what should be a 100% privately funded arena, you’re a muppet and you don’t understand the first thing about fiscal responsibility.
How many times will this ownership group threaten to leave before everyone just tunes them out? Leave or don’t, stop wasting everyone’s time. This deal was bad, it got worse, and it’ll continue to get worse. The city never should have agreed to it in the first place.
Please, this is an idle threat, and I was pissed with them back when they were all over Bill Smith, and I haven’t dropped a nickel in that building since and likely never will again.
