Who knows what the landscape will look like in Calgary post-pandemic given inflation, the downtown vacancy rate (actual near 50%) and a much changed energy sector? And on top of very little playoff success for this franchise.

Hell with 25 year plus STHs like me sitting out the season because of COVID and not sure I will even renew given the uncertainty regarding seat locations and sight lines in the new building (btw the Saddledome is excellent in that regard), the future of NHL hockey in this town is very suspect to begin with.
Running a business is a risk. No one is making them run it, and citizens shouldn't be on the hook for their business. They got way more than a fair deal from the city. Small businesses are taking risks, why aren't they getting nice deals from the city?
