I'm saying that I don't think he existed as the origin for this Peter's Spider-Man.
If he was ever going to be mentioned it was going to be this movie. When Tobey and Andrew were sharing about the death of their respective Ben, Tom’s Peter would definitely have said something if he believed he was responsible as well.
Peter also only visits May’s grave at the end of the movie. So I’m lead to believe Ben doesn’t exist in his traditional state in the MCU. He could died of a disease or an accident, or maybe when Peter was very young.
May essentially took Ben's role for this Spider-Man, so Peter would be learning the same lesson twice if he was also responsible for Ben's death.
It's a neat twist that this entire trilogy full of weird themes (Iron Man Jr., space travel, penthouse apartments) turned out to be Spider-Man's origin of a broke, down on his luck, guilt ridden, "Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man".
