I sort of agree with this thought, but professional hockey players are a different demographic than the rest of the population in terms of health, fitness, etc. And based on the speed that the virus spread through the team, the possibility exists that due to the sheer numbers of new cases and the lag behind infection and hospitalization, we could see the medical system get overwhelmed again. With no "silver bullet" vaccine to save our bacon.

I'm not saying it will happen, but it's just not enough information known yet. And Kenney is going for the "Best Christmas Ever" model (let's relax rules), where other provinces are going for safety first. And we know how well that went last time around...
