Highway 5 (Coquihalla) opening to commercial and bus traffic on Monday, Highway 3 (Hope-Princeton) opening to general traffic on Tuesday.

Very impressive turnaround by the BC government. That being said, it's probably not going to be a fast or smooth drive if you try to make your way to the lower mainland for the holidays by vehicle so I'd still consider alternate routes like going through the US or flying there if you can.
