I think size is the most overrated aspect of goaltending. Even though big goalies are the trend (and it gives them a huge edge in games where their team dominates lesser opponents) when the opposition has elite scoring skill, it still comes down to athleticism, anticipation, hockey-sense, timing, mental strength, focus, etc. And in the playoffs, the opponent usually has elite scoring skill and it becomes far more important to be able to slide from left-to-right to get that Stamkos one-timer off a Hedman feed, and then to the left where Kucherov got the rebound over to hedman, and then from centre to left to get that kucherov one-timer off a hedman feed-oh-wait kucherov faked you out and slid it over to Point for another one-timer in the slot.

Size isn't stopping that. Agility is. And dumb luck. If anything, I think size is detrimental to agility. What's going to turn a corner faster, a Ducati or a '68 Charger?

Dustin Wolf is a Ducati.
