look at CP for one example. Are players rated here by their international play or Olympic credentials? No, that's just icing on the cake for a players career.

For international tournaments, of course it is.
Yeah, everyone would rather have a cup than a gold medal, but nobody would rather have any other international victory over an Olympic gold.
