That was a really well played game by two excellent hockey teams. Flames were very unlucky not to have one of those close plays count.

In the back of my mind I was concerned that the Flames haven't played the best teams yet, and was scared that the hot start was more of a reflection of the weakness of the opposition vs the Flames being a good team. With that in mind I had this game circled on the calendar as a good test. They passed with flying colours IMO.

I felt like Lindholm got caught out playing Aho a bit soft on the GWG, a hard stride or two more and Aho probably doesn't get to the front of the net. I can't put my finger on what the problem is in OT, is it having no Gio or does the team just not have the horses to get it done. 1-6 is not a good look.
