I think it should have been at least 2nd degree murder. But we do live in a society where everyone can apparently be rehabilitated.

If it was up to me he'd have his cell door locked and fed only the essentials through a straw until he dies. I don't believe in the death penalty but sometimes I think we should make special exceptions. You kill a police officer or child you get the death penalty.

For the record, if you believe the second part, you don't actually believe the first part.
