Don't be shocked if you are pulled over and told to turn around. From friends and family in and around impacted areas local RCMP have stepped up the "essential" travel only rule. My mother in law and her husband are driving around in a vehicle registered to Chilliwack while they live in Merrit and have been stopped several times this week alone. Their vehicle was lost in the floods and are driving the husband's brother's truck.
The #3 is especially being enforced around Hope to Princeton. A friend tried to go to Tulameen on Monday to help with a friends cabin and they were turned around in Hope. It is sporadic like anything else but the potential is there.
