Treliving botched the offseason by pushing Kylington for a two way and handing Valimaki not only a one way but one with a higher cap hit than was commessurate to his performance last year (I noted this back when Juuso was re-signed, so it's not revisionist history).

Tre got burned on his gamble, Valimaki wasn't worth his one way deal. Sending Kylington down is not (nor ever should have been) an option. And Tre's bosses are probably not happy to be paying a guy over a million to play in the minors.
Mackey’s contract is the head scratcher, not Valimaki. At least Valimaki had a legitimate shot at being a starter from the beginning of training camp. Mackey was destined for Stockton from day one when they weee split into two groups.

Kylington has been a surprise, even to Sutter IMO.
