Reminder that when a team is sold to a new owner, it is standard for the NHL to put a clause in that the new owner will not try to move the team for 7 years. The Coyotes were sold in 2019 to the current owner.

I think the Tempe arena deal would have to fall apart completely for the NHL to release them from the clause.
