Absolutely zero can be gained out of him continuing to talk, even if he is eager to be defending himself, and can only twist himself up further.
He’s very fortunate for a lot of things not going totally sideways with his actions off the ice, regardless of this just as crazy woman working through her things, so keeping your head down and spotlight off you as much as possible for another month or two won’t hurt.
