A big one for me personally was John Knoll, who was visual effects supervisor and chief creative officer (CCO) at ILM. He and his brother created Photoshop in 1988. I'm sure we would have got there eventually but his years at ILM must have pushed it's development much more quickly. It's the piece of software that got me into my career.

We also got David Fincher after doing matte photography and camera work on Temple of Doom, Neverending Story and Return of the Jedi with ILM.
