For ex, (spit-balling)
$2m in annual cap would be a 2nd round pick.
$3m, a 1st. etc;

Bit of a baseline; with the Marleau trade.

Carolina took on the $6.25 million cap hit of Patrick Marleau in exchange for a 1st round pick (13th overall) in the 2020 NHL entry draft, and a 7th round pick in the NHL entry draft, giving up a 6th round pick in the same draft

$6.25m for a 1st rounder.
But barely $1m in cash, over 2 years --
CBA took away this advantage with O35 contract.

So not a linear comparable, as while the cap-hit is substantial, the actual pay-out costs are but a fraction. For a team with cap-space they pay $1m/2 yrs, in real money for a 1st rounder.
