It's usually programs like OU poaching from schools that cant afford to compete financially and/or recruiting wise.
Some serious salt happening here from you Sooner guys now that a bigger program, (albeit one that has been down for a decade), does the same thing. Part of the game known as college football head coaching.
Guess where Riley played and cut his teeth into the coaching realm?

Yes I am salty. Lets put this in Flames message board lingo. Johnny Gaudreau asks not to be traded at the deadline because he's committed to this team. But after the season he leaves for nothing. And as he leaves he takes Lindholm, Andersson, and Tkachuk with him to wherever he is going (obviously this is extreme but is it not what is happening at OU?). Would we, as Flames fans, not be salty?
I didn't say it was wrong or didn't happen elsewhere. I said Riley was a coward on how he went about it. The missed press conference for personal reasons before the Baylor game, and the lacklustre performances going 1-2 since then make way more sense. You cant coach, you cant be committed to a team, you cant ask for a team to be committed to you with one foot out the door.
You lost me at USC being a bigger program than Oklahoma though. It's a big program but its a lateral move at best.
It's a coward move because Riley didn't want to compete in the SEC. USC will win the Pac-12 easily but its not going to compete against SEC or BIG10 teams. At the end of the day Riley wasn't going to win OU a national championship. The expectation from OU is conference titles only aren't good enough, hell Riley couldn't even win that once his own players/coaches were in place.
Riley is a good coach, not a great coach. We feel more scorned than we do just sad a good coach left. He won't win a national title at USC but I guess he can brag about all his worst power 5 conference titles. King #### on Turd Mountain. That's all some people care about I guess.
