Ovi will come very close and perhaps break the record, that we know of. The Great One was just simply a substantially more efficient shooter and did it in an era where goal scoring was high but certain conditions and elements of the era could have made it a little harder.

Everything in 2021 is geared towards allowing more scoring and players like Ovi have benefited from it, no doubt. He is a special player with a special shot. I still stand by my thoughts that #99 was probably the most dominating athlete in major NA sports from a pure performance and statistical perspective. When you compare the #1, 2, 3 spots in points, you have such a massive gap in some ways it's in sane. Gretzky literally has nearly 50% more points than Jagr, who played nearly 10 years longer in the league.

When you compare TD passes thrown, NBA players points, homerun's in MLB or whatever else, you don't see that level of separation. You may see 5 or 10 % but none of this 50% business. It's just crazy
