Practically speaking...do you really think they are thrilled with the Flames? There was a somewhat contentious negotiation process for his last contract. They value school and made Johnny finish his degree during the summers after going to the NHL. I'm sure they're very happy with Johnny's career and experience so far with the Flames, but they also strike me as a family to value continuing with school for now. Which, from a non-Flames-fan perspective, is very reasonable!
