Giroux will be 34 in January. So he’s going to be an old 34 when he starts his new deal.
Philly hasn’t prioritized an extension for him - he was quoted just last week saying “I don’t think about it, no I’m kidding of course I think about it” which is always what you say to the media when a negotiation is going the way you hope.
Johnny is 5 years younger, and he’s better. How much better is open to interpretation, but he’s more productive by the numbers.
It’s not an unrealistic possibility.
