There are no sides, unless you want to manufacture them.
Literally everyone here wants Markstrom to do well.
Some people are just overly sensitive to any suggestion that Markstrom might have had a few easy nights.
He
can't control how easy his night is, only on making the saves he should be making. He does that, everyone is happy with his performance.
When Markstrom makes those saves, the Flames win. Although in the Flyers game, where he did make all those saves, but the Flames lost for reasons outside his control.
There are nights where a goalie allows 3+ goals, that are virtually unsaveable barring Hasek-esque craziness, and there are nights where a goalie pitches a shutout but did not have to slide post-to-post or have their glove or blocker challenged. Acknowledging the type of night is not "discrediting" the performance. Over the long run, consistency is what matters.
All anyone wants is for him to make the saves he needs to make consistently, and maybe have the occasional night where the team bails him out equal to the occasional night where he bails the team out of their drunken stupor. He does that, and you can win a Stanley Cup with the 200-foot style of hockey this team plays.
