By Wisconsin law, he could be found guilty of (940.08) homicide by negligent handling of dangerous weapon. It's also why his friend who furnished the weapon is facing 25 years in prison. I think this is the out for the jury. It is a lesser charge and fits with the crime. Letting him walk is a very dangerous precedent the court does not want to set. He has a self defense case against the guy who had the gun, who ironically survived, but the two victims he gunned down, he has a weak case for self defense.
