Ok that makes more sense. Weird they call those two wide positions Wingback. The term wingback, is derived from the major focus being to defend, but also advance (say 66/33) Commonly, Wingbacks are the widest in a 5-3-2.
Now in that 3-4-3 formation you cited, they are utilizing a flat 4 midfield, and those would be right and left midfielders, where I agree that Davies could flourish (with a 10 and two 9's). The L & R, Mids would be 50/50 in attack, defend.
