I would use your least used bike on the trainer if possible. That way, when the weather is unpredictable (usually fall and spring), you're not having to swap off the bike you want to ride.

I just use an old yoga mat under my bike to protect the floor from sweat. I do have a wheel block. I think I just picked one up on Amazon but all the bike shops should have them as well.

If you're in a wood frame condo, you might want to consider more floor padding to dampen some of the sound.
