That’s excellent to hear. I’m glad you’re vaccinated.
You don’t have to share that information with me, or anyone on this board.
You do have to share it with the staff of establishments you wish to visit because it’s the reality of the situation.
I hate having to pull my stupid piece of paper out and watch the hostess scan my entire vaccination history going back to birth looking for the COVID doses, then back to my drivers license, then back to the paper.
But it helps them feel safe, and it helps me feel safe, and it motivates people to actually get the shot.
It’s almost over.

This is a study from 2013 and it talks in great detail about why the prevalence of infectious disease correlates so strongly with a population holding authoritarian beliefs.
TL;DR - nobody wants to die from an infectious pathogen before their time, and they will trade your freedoms and mine to ensure that doesn’t happen.
So the best thing to do to keep that sentiment at bay is for everyone to step up. When the threat of the virus abates, things will return to the way they were.
It’s counterproductive to resist or even support those who do philosophically. They’re wrong. They’re allowed to be wrong, to a point.
But they can’t be surprised when 4/5 of their neighbours who have taken a needle and moved on with their lives are extremely angry at them for dragging this out.
3,164 residents of this province have died since March 2020.
123 are in ICU as I write this, and many of those that don’t die are going to be dealing with the after effects for the rest of their lives.
That’s apparently not enough for some people.
So they can remain at home. It’s nothing personal; we just can’t have them killing people. Something else they seem blithely unaware of.
