That's definitely one of the reasons that I always roll my eyes every time Tatooine somehow comes up again in Star Wars. It's not on a hyperspace trade route, it's not near any useful planets (they don't seem to go back to Geonosis, which is near Tatooine) and there's thousands of planets with crime syndicates and Hutt warlords (why not visit Nal Hutta or Nar Shadda, the hutt homeworld and its moon?).
They don't need to keep tapping the same tired old locations. Surely they can fill some other planets with deep enough lore to make them interesting. Even the books fell into this trap regularly. More fighter pilots that are featured in the books came from Tatooine than any other planet except Corellia which makes no sense. Corellia is a core world so it stands to reason that you would see more skilled pilots from there.
