Well, Watched the Eternals. As a movie it's okay. Not great, but not terrible. The "plot" is kind of pointless if you stop and think about it too much, but it looks great, it's well directed and the cast is mostly decent, except for Angelina Jolie who had a role that was way too difficult for her acting range, and Salma Hayek who was never much an actress either.
Richard Madden was a succesful typecast choice in a key role as Ikarus, and and Brian Tyree Henry was so much a standout that I might actually want to see that character again.
I mostly really wish this had nothing to do with the MCU. On some level I enjoy this kind of bonkers cosmic stuff, but I just don't want to see how they could ever succesfully mix these events with the rest of the MCU. The scale is just so bonkers that no matter how well things are done, I can't see it working, as it barely works on it's own. This and the Loki series clash horribly already
Strong "jumping the shark" vibes for the MCU honestly. Lots of awkward giggling in all the wrong spots in the theatee, that to me sounded like people just couldn't buy into what was going on.
I can't wait for Phase Four to be over already, as I really feel it's going to just get worse before it gets better.
