When trading a player?
OK, I was wondering how other GM's felt about this. Ive watched a few shows lately. The one's where they follow a GM around during the draft or at the trade deadline etc. Ive seen when the GM gets a trade offer they get off the phone call up another team that was interested in the same player and tell them the offer they just got.
"You want Gretzky still? Nashville just offered me Kurri, Messier and a 1st. Can you beat it?"
They also all seem to know what team is going to be drafting what player. One gm tells another gm and within the hour almost every team knows who's being picked and when. Then the dealing begins as teams try to move up. But in the CPHL no one really wants to tell anyone what there offer is so they can try and beat it. Are we all full of crap and don't want to let on? Or are we afraid of offending someone? Sure you can say I'm getting a guy back rated 75 overall. But that usually don't help. I for one really don't care if I make a offer and that gm uses it to try and get a better deal. But how does the rest of the league feel?
