And yes, the Flames would be a very tough out for the Oilers. And they would have more than a small chance. Sutter is about two tiers above Tippett on the hierarchy of coaches, and as he has demonstrated a few times over the years, that counts for something.
This team is his project, it was raw when he inherited it, and he's getting a full season now to work out the kinks and grit and making this roster the machine he envisions it being.

Before the season started I couldn’t find anyone to bet me on who would finish higher in the standings and now after 6 wins in 10 games the Flames are some top tier powerhouse. You personally give Oiler fans tons of ATL ammo.
