It’s obvious that this was the major change that Tre targeted this year. It did not come to fruition, but with the team playing the way they are, it might not have as much of an impact to this season.
Going forward though, my biggest concern is Johnny due to him being a pending UFA. I have kinda come to the acceptance that Tkachuk either will demand a significant pay or not be long for the flames. I’d honestly prefer the latter. Mangiapane is an RFA as well. But Johnny is a player who makes those he plays with better. I hope Tre is able to find a way to keep him beyond this season. That probably is his final test/chance in addition to how we actually do this season.
If we end up losing Johnny, I feel like a rebuild is the way to go, and not sure ownership will want Tre to handle that.
