How is there a tanking discussion here? The team is 6-1-2. And it's not like they're getting lucky, they're obliterating their opponents in terms of the flow of play, and their big FA acquisition goalie is finally playing like one. I'm sure there will be dips here and there but every indication is that this team should win the division. Absolutely, utterly insane to suggest tanking for a high pick.
As far as the Vegas LTIR situation goes, if they pull a Kucherov with any of those guys and go on a deep run the NHL is going to have to change its rules (i.e. if you're not in the lineup and counting against the cap the week before the playoffs you don't get to play in round 1).
