Also nice to see that management acts from a position of reason instead of emotion. Calgary was competing with a tram who has exhibited a desperate need to be relevant in the near term, and the cost to outlast them would have been damaging to anything beyond the very short term interests of the team. The Flames are building a squad to compete over the course of the next decade, and it appears they would only make this deal if thst plan remained in tact.
I, for one, am glad to see that management has a plan and won't abandon that plan to chase shiney objects.
