Thinking back to the Hamilton for Lindholm and Hanifin trade and how much I hated that at the time. It looked awful. We traded the best defenseman, added Adam Fox a prospect who's dominance in college was getting play, and Ferland who had played on our top line with Gaudreau and Monahan. Carolina seemed fine losing Hanifin and Lindholm had mediocre numbers.
Brad actually made several shrewd roster management decisions there. Hamilton wanted out, Fox wasn't signing, Ferland was still useful but concussion issues were piling up. It turned out to be a big win. That's how I rationalize that package. guys who want out and aren't re-signing. Also, TBull8 can take a bow if it goes through.
