In no particular order for things to do:
- There's a fort under the Golden Gate bridge that I always like going to. I just find it interesting.
- There is a lighthouse out at Point Reyes that is pretty cool. It's a small drive to the north of San Francisco itself.
- Typical tourist stuff: Lombard Street/Cable Car ride/Alcatraz.
- Sausalito was neat when I was there many years ago, but haven't been there recently.
- Muir Woods is close by for a dose of giant redwoods.
I'm sure others will have a lot more interesting things to add, but I really enjoy San Francisco. One tip though, it can get pretty cold with the wind off the bay any time of year.
EDIT: Also watch where you step. Apparently there is a massive defecation problem going on, not sure how true that is though
