I know Tremblant is not far off. I was there when they were building a platform at the summit ('96) to try to lengthen the course to qualify. I think the issue is not with the vertical but the time to complete the course is not long enough. They had to use the north side as the base is lower than the south.

Don't know about recent downhill/super g type events out east. Doubt it though. I am more of a big mountain/free skiing type of guy and don't follow racing. Although I did beat a member of the jr US ski team in a GS race when I was 15.
