I would have done the Tkachuk deal with some significant ++ in the offseason if Eichel was going to get surgery and be good to go by the start of the season. Doing that deal now is a lot harder since Tkachuk is a huge part of the top line and looks good with Lindholm and Johnny.

If it is Tkachuk now then I would only want to add a conditional 2nd rounder that turns into a 1st based on games played or playoffs or something like that? I would still do it but would really prefer to have it be Monahan+Valimaki+Picks/prospects.
