Last year was the first season since 2017 that the Oilers won the season series with Calgary.

No. No, you do not. These are famously the words of a person who does not actually hate the Oilers much at all, but rather is attempting vainly to cover an embarrassing affinity for that dog#### pile of garbage hockey team up North.

You are not fooling anyone.
Holy geez that's an aggressive response personally. I loathe the oilers. I'm not going to go on a diatribe about how much I detest the organization and so many of it's players over the years, or least try not to. I feel like I lose my cool talking about that franchise so often I'm so irrational in my hate of them. Them being handed McDavid has lessened my liking of the whole NHL and made me a pretty aggressive critic of the whole draft system and franchise model of sports leagues.

Here's how I see it:
2017-2019 Oilers 9 wins, Calgary 4
2020 the Flames rebound and take the series
Since then Oilers 7 wins Calgary 4

I think their depth is crap, their goalie is weak, their blueline is bad, but they have two of the best five players in the game on their roster, and by far the best player in the world, scoring at over a 2ppg clip. I watch our team play them the last couple of years and when those two guys are in stride and the Flames are not flawless discipline wise, their PP walks all over the flames. It's anecdotal but for me I feel like Calgary has struggled to stay with them and their forward depth has improved this year significantly with Foegele and Hyman. Anyway it makes me sick to defend them but I can't accept anybody saying I have an affinity for the Oilers, that's the most ####ing embarrassing thing I've heard someone say to me. Today. Lol.
