There is room for nuance in many situations, but there wasn't then, and there isn't now.


Nobody is saying Quenneville is a monster, but he allowed a monster to continue having access to the young men he was directly responsible for. He could have stopped it, but he chose not to.



As recently as yesterday, he continued to play the 'I didn't know about it' card. There is no defending him. I wouldn't ever expect an NHL team to give him the responsibility of being in charge of young men again.


I would agree with your nuanced grey insight into this if he decided to keep it quiet, but actually pushed that monster out the door and protected his players then. There is nothing nuanced about how terrible he acted then, and how he has continued (up until he was shown the door) claiming complete ignorance right up until he was forced out. There is zero nuance about it IMO.
