In Steve Jobs Key Note address at the much vaunted (and publicised) unveiling he clearly stated that they chose the GSM format for the phone. It is exclusively liscensed to Cingulair (now AT&T) in the USA for two years from the date of release, that excludes ALL other US carriers. Rogers have been included up here, and one assumes a similar arrangement with other GSM carriers in Europe. That leaves Japan out, I guess a big and eager (CDMA) market. If you have any links or qoutes from Apple about the CDMA version I would be most interested to see and read. Thanks!

That's about the only thing I recall reading, but then I haven't paid much attention lately.
