Thinking knowledge of this was contained to the Blackhawks organization is pretty naive. If everyone in the Blackhawks dressing room knew, then by training camp 2011 most players in the NHL would have known. Friedman and Mackenzie would have known. Management of most teams would have known. The video coach of the current Stanley Cup champions didn’t get another NHL job, do you think that was a coincidence?
This isn’t just a Blackhawks problem, it’s a professional sports problem. Or maybe even an organized sports problem, because you know (or should know) that stuff like this is also covered up at the amateur level as well. All in the name of winning.
