Yes, to me the issue isn't necessarily how Toews, out of everyone at the time, reacted. He was a top player and a captain but still young. But FFS, own it now. I'd have a lot more respect for "Well, we did know and we didn't step up and I'm ashamed of that. We were caught up in our cup run and afterwards just shoved it aside. It wasn't right, but that's what happened."
Everyone tries to minimize and/or deflect. Just own it.
