Gene Principe “Sensing Keith would’ve done something about Blackhawks scandal had he known”….. I’m not sure I could have contrived such an evil and dismissive headline if I tried. It’s almost unbelievable. I actually thought it was a sick satire piece or something when I first saw the screenshot. “No way” I thought… “absolutely no way someone would go on TV and say this after watching that interview”.
You turned around and did exactly what the Blackhawks did to Beach.. The Oilers and their All-Star offence, and 5-0 start, brought in a key member of that 2010 hawks team to try and win it all… and are sweeping the story under the rug to try and avoid distractions while winning it all! It’s disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. I have to assume there are staff at sportsnet who agree, because I assume human beings work there in some capacity.
This isn’t the story or the place for team mouthpieces to start defending players related to the story. This is the entire mentality that Beech is speaking out against. How was this missed? How does a camera crew, producers, executives, etc… let this get to air without saying “maybe we shouldn’t get involved”.
The furthest you should go on this matter is to not discuss it at all, if you want to be a traitor to the victims of sexual assault. But this? Really? Really????
I better see a live apology tonight. Completely disgusted.
